Services Good design strategy requires consistent good decisions in order to succeed. I love the design process and all facets of it. To take a raw idea and work it into a profitable product is a great challenge involving many decisions, actions and commitments. The first step is to define the product and the market. An initial product evaluation would consider: Marketablility, Manufacturabitity, and Protectability A clear yes to all these aspects is required to proceed. More evovled design strategies include: Cost reduction, Material Selection, Reduction of parts, Manufacturing methods, and Marketing strategies. Initial decisions are the most crucial in allocating resouces to develop a new product. Costs expand geometrically as an idea becomes a product. A drawing on a napkin is cheap. Making a prototype costs something. Investing in tooling and marketing can cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. My primary desire is to educate clients in the design process in order for them to succeed with a minimum of expense and effort. | |||
